1.Mechanical Characteristic Tests:

Measure Opening/Closing Time (command to full contact separation/closure).

Measure Opening/Closing Speed (average or at critical points).

Check Synchronization (time difference between phases opening/closing).

Perform Operating Voltage Test (reliable operation at min/max voltage specs).

2.Main Circuit Resistance Test:

Measure DC Resistance across closed contacts using a microhmmeter. Compare to specs.

3.Insulation Withstand Tests:

Perform Power Frequency Withstand Test (apply high AC voltage to closed contacts; main indirect vacuum check).

Perform Impulse Withstand Test if required (lightning/ switching surge).

4.Vacuum Integrity Check:

Indirect: Primarily relies on passing the Power Frequency Withstand Test.

Direct: Use a dedicated Vacuum Tester to measure pressure (if equipped).

5.Auxiliary & Control Circuit Checks:

Verify secondary wiring correctness.

Test relay functions (trip/close coils, auxiliary switches, locks).

Test charging mechanism (motor, indication, locks).

Verify anti-pumping and interlock functions (electrical/mechanical).

6.Operational Check:

Perform several manual and electrical open/close operations at rated voltage. Observe smooth, reliable action, correct indication, no abnormal noise.

Core Points: Test timing/speed/sync, measure resistance, perform withstand tests (insulation + indirect vacuum), check control functions, verify final operation.

Safety First: Ensure equipment is de-energized, tested for voltage, discharged, and grounded before testing. Use calibrated instruments.
