The SF6 Gas Recovery & Refilling Device is a key equipment for processing sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) gas in the power system, especially crucial in the installation, maintenance, and decommissioning of high-voltage switchgear such as GIS and GCB. Its core functions revolve around the safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly treatment of SF6 gas, mainly including the following points:
1. Recycling/suction:
Core function: This is the most basic and important function of the device. It can safely, efficiently, and completely extract SF6 gas (whether it is new gas, old gas, or mixed gas) from electrical equipment such as circuit breakers, transformers, and GIS chambers.
Purpose: To free up gas space for equipment maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, or retirement; Recycling valuable SF6 gas to reduce waste and environmental pollution.
2. Purification/Regeneration:
Core function: The recovered SF6 gas usually contains impurities
Purpose: To restore the insulation and arc extinguishing performance of SF6 gas, so that it can be safely refilled into electrical equipment, significantly reducing the cost of new gas procurement and environmental burden.
3. Liquefied storage:
Core function: Compress and cool the purified SF6 gas for liquefaction, and store it in the built-in storage tank of the device.
Purpose:
Significantly reducing volume: The volume of liquid SF6 is only about 1/300 of that in the gaseous state, greatly improving storage and transportation efficiency.
Safe storage: After liquefaction, it is stored in a pressure vessel for safe preservation and subsequent use.
Improve recycling efficiency: Rapid liquefaction is beneficial for efficient and thorough recovery of gases inside the equipment.
4. Recharge:
Core function: Accurately and controllably fill SF6 gas (liquid or gas) stored in the device (purified or new) into electrical equipment that requires gas.
Purpose: Fill the equipment with qualified SF6 gas before it is put back into operation after maintenance.
5. Vacuum pumping:
Core function: The device is equipped with a built-in vacuum pump system, which can draw high vacuum inside electrical equipment before filling with new or recovered gas.
Purpose:
Remove air and moisture: Ensure that the internal environment of the equipment is dry and clean, avoiding air and moisture from affecting the insulation performance of SF6 gas and producing harmful decomposition products.
6. Exhaust gas treatment/recovery:
Core function (equipped with advanced or specialized devices): For severely polluted gases that cannot be purified and reused (such as those containing highly toxic decomposition products) or exhaust gases emitted during device maintenance, some recovery devices integrate exhaust gas treatment units (such as adsorption, catalytic decomposition, or incineration) or safely collect them in dedicated containers.
Purpose: To absolutely avoid the direct emission of toxic and harmful SF6 decomposition products or SF6 gas itself into the atmosphere, in order to meet strict environmental regulations (SF6 is an extremely strong greenhouse gas).
