A DC hipot test kit is a test device used to detect the insulation performance of high-voltage electrical equipment (such as cables, transformers, and switchgear). The tester is usually made of a sturdy insulating material shell, with a box-type structure, a handle for easy carrying, and a display and control buttons on the front panel for easy operation. Its working principle is to apply a specified DC high voltage to the device, observe its current leakage, and determine whether the insulation meets the standard. If the current is too high, the insulation performance of the device may be defective.

High-stability Output Voltage
The DC hipot test kit can provide continuous and constant DC high voltage during the test. This feature is mainly due to the voltage regulator module inside the tester. The voltage regulator module monitors the output voltage in real time and uses feedback control to quickly adjust the current and voltage to ensure that the output voltage remains stable within the set range. The advantage of high-stability output is that it can effectively simulate the working state of the device under actual high-voltage environment, so as to truly and accurately evaluate the insulation performance of the device.
Precision Current Leakage Measurement
The DC hipot test kit is equipped with a high-precision current leakage measurement module, which can detect the tiny current changes of the device under DC high voltage. The measurement accuracy of the leakage current can usually reach the microampere level. The current leakage measurement module monitors the current changes of the device under test in real time through a highly sensitive current sensor, amplifies the tiny leakage current signal, and then accurately measures it by the signal processing circuit. In this way, when the device is subjected to high voltage, the tiny leakage current can be detected, and the insulation material can be accurately judged whether it is damaged or aged.
Multiple Protection Functions
The DC hipot test kit is designed with multiple protection functions, including overvoltage protection, overcurrent protection and discharge protection, which can automatically cut off the output under abnormal conditions to prevent equipment damage and operator safety risks. For example, overvoltage protection is triggered when the output voltage exceeds the set threshold to prevent excessive voltage from damaging the device or the object being tested; overcurrent protection is activated when the current exceeds the safety limit to prevent the test equipment from being damaged by excessive current. In addition, discharge protection is automatically activated after the test is completed to prevent residual charge from causing accidental harm to personnel.
