Selection of current for DC high-voltage generator:
According to the test of zinc oxide lightning arrester, the required current to complete the test is only 1mA. If a normal DC high-voltage generator only completes the lightning arrester test, the conventional 2mA current can be selected.
For other currents of 3mA or above, we can choose a larger current based on factors such as loss and leakage to ensure that the test can be completed normally only after completing the withstand voltage of the cable and other equipment.

Testing Process of the DC Hipot Voltage Tester
Preparation
Ensure the testing environment is dry, clean, and free of contaminants.
Confirm that the test object is powered off and properly grounded.
Connect the high-voltage output lead to the test object and ground the circuit lead.
Voltage Application
Gradually increase the DC test voltage to the desired level.
Maintain the test voltage for 1–5 minutes.
Monitor for abnormal leakage current fluctuations.
Pass/Fail Criteria
Pass – Leakage current remains stable and within an acceptable range.
Fail – Leakage current increases significantly or insulation breakdown occurs.
Test Completion & Discharge
Slowly reduce the voltage to zero.
Properly discharge the test object to prevent residual charge hazards.
Safely disconnect all test leads.
Operation Steps
Inspect all cables and connections before use.
Position the chassis and voltage doubler properly and connect grounding wires.
Set the overvoltage protection (typically 1.1 times the test voltage).
Turn on the power switch and begin voltage regulation.
Slowly increase the voltage to the required test level.
Monitor readings, listen for unusual sounds, and observe for abnormal conditions.
Reduce voltage to zero, turn off power, and disconnect all leads.
Maintenance Methods
Replace hydraulic oil and clean the oil tank every six months.
Ensure the cooling system activates automatically when oil temperature ≥ 45°C.
Clean the air filter regularly.
Check the oil filter signal light and clean the filter if the buzzer sounds.
Lubricate all mechanical transmission points.
Monitor oil levels and replenish recommended hydraulic oil as needed.
